Happy New Year! Happy new you?

January 6, 2007

I wrote this post New Year’s Day, but didn’t get around to posting. I felt a little negligent not doing the typical blog-off related to the new year, so here I add my meme into the mix. Enjoy.

Happy New Year. Happy new you?

It’s the start of the new year. Just like it is every year at this time. But this time is different! Because this time is like no other!

Do you really believe that? Then why do you type it? Typing something doesn’t magically make it true. It might magically make it false, but what good does that do anyone? Why do you play these games with yourself?

What does a new year mean? Does a new year even mean anything? Are these even questions that are really worth asking?

In the end, every day is a new beginning. So, today is really no different than tomorrow. Or than yesterday. Or than the day after tomorrow and yesterday. So, why pretend otherwise. Why pretend like somehow today is especially special.

If today is a new day, and every day is a new day, then every day is a day to start anew. Every time you wake up from the night’s slumber, you have the option of starting EVERYTHING anew. Every moment you take a new inspiration, or make a new expiration, you have the choice of starting anew. Every moment is holy. Every moment is new.

That said, what will this year bring? It can bring many things. But what do you want it to bring? How about joy? How about creativity? How about connecting with people through those two outlets. Let’s see if you can create more joy and creativity in the world for yourself and others.

You want to connect with someone? Create value for yourself first that you can then share with them. It sounds very dry. Very capitalistic. But really, it’s one of the most exciting, intriguing things you could ever come across. The dance of the WE. The play of interrelationship. It’s a beautiful thing.

So, yes, that’s this years theme. To create joy and value through creativity with myself that I can then share with others. Sounds like a plan. Now… BREAK!!!
