We’ve been doing blind genetic experimentation by mixing whole genomes together for a long time. It’s amazing how little concern there’s been over the agricultural practices for the last millennium, right? Just blindly mixing any species together — if they will mix together it gets done. And if you do it with intelligent forethought, it’s more dangerous, somehow.
